Developed & produced in Switzerland

Power meters from Switzerland – from the circuit to the support desk

For over 35 years we have been developing and producing power meters, data loggers and energy management software in Switzerland. Development, PCB assembly, final assembly and the help desk are all based here.

A meter reading tells you how much. A load profile tells you when – and that is what drives demand charges.

What we produce

Which products does EMU Electronic offer?

OEM

All products also as an OEM solution

Power meters, M-Center and Joulio-Web under your name: with your own type designation, housing colour and customer-specific interface – for energy management providers, ZEV billing service providers and manufacturers.

Who we are

Who is EMU Electronic AG?

EMU Electronic is a Swiss manufacturer with its own development and its own production. Our devices sit in control cabinets nobody talks about as long as the figures are right. That is exactly what the company is built for: durable hardware, clear interfaces and people who know what you are talking about when you call back.

Development and manufacturing under one roof

Circuit design, firmware and the web interface are created in Baar. Whoever is responsible for a function sits in the same building as the person who supports it – which is why revisions, special versions and fault reports are a matter of weeks, not quarters.

From the metering concept to the handover

Most projects founder not on the hardware but on a metering concept that does not support the billing that comes later. That is why we start with a conversation and, where it is worthwhile, a workshop on site.

See how we work

Swiss Made, taken literally

What does Swiss Made mean for a power meter?

At many manufacturers, “Swiss Made” stops at the housing and the logo. With us it starts at the circuit and extends to the assembled board. That costs more than sourcing a circuit board abroad – and pays off where delivery reliability, revisions and traceability count.

Development in Baar

Hardware, firmware and web interface in house.

PCB assembly (PCBA)

The assembled boards come from Switzerland – not just the housing.

Final assembly and testing

Assembled, tested and marked with its own serial number.

Commissioning and help desk

Support from planning through to operation, from Baar.

How we work

How does a metering project with EMU run?

We do not just deliver boxes. A project starts with your installation and only ends when the data arrives where somebody works with it.

Metering concept

  • First meeting and presentation
  • Site visit and analysis of the existing installation
  • Workshop with the operating staff
  • New metering concept

Implementation

  • Devices from our own production
  • Roll-out and commissioning
  • Validation of the measuring points
  • Handover to the operator

Operation

  • Help desk from Baar
  • On-site training
  • Maintenance and optimisation
  • Spare parts for years to come

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about EMU Electronic AG

Where are EMU devices developed and produced?

In Switzerland. EMU Electronic develops hardware, firmware and software at its site in Baar in the canton of Zug. PCB assembly (PCBA) also takes place in Switzerland, as do final assembly, testing and support.

How long has EMU Electronic existed?

EMU Electronic has been developing and producing power meters and energy management software in Switzerland for over 35 years. The head office is at Jöchlerweg 2, 6340 Baar.

Which group does EMU Electronic belong to?

EMU Electronic belongs to the Helventure Group. The sister company Helvatron AG manufactures heat and water meters. EMU Metering GmbH in Gotha is responsible for Germany, Helvatron GmbH for the EU, Helvatron Measuring & Control Systems LLC in Dubai for the Middle East, Helvatron Consulting in Riyadh for Saudi Arabia and Helvatron d.o.o. for southern Europe. The overview of the group shows who looks after which market.

How does a project with EMU run?

It starts with a first meeting and a presentation. On request, a workshop with a site visit follows, in which we analyse the existing metering concept and draw up a new one. Then come roll-out, commissioning and handover – followed by ongoing support.

How do I reach technical support?

Email helpdesk@emuag.ch or call +41 41 545 03 00. Support and commissioning are charged by time spent, in quarter-hour steps from 15 minutes.

Let’s talk about your project.

Whether it is a new build, a refurbishment or a meter estate that has grown over the years and should finally deliver data – we will tell you openly what our devices can do and what they cannot.
