Route 1: Modbus adapter
- Install the «Modbus» adapter and create an instance.
- Connection: TCP, type master, partner IP of the M-Center, port 502.
- Device ID: the Modbus device address of the meter in the M-Center.
- Enter the values in the «Holding Registers» tab, for example register 1030 for import tariff 1 with the data type float big endian (32 bit).
- Choose the poll interval to match the readout interval of the M-Center, usually 15 minutes.
The manual counts registers from 1. Whether the adapter counts from 0 or from 1 depends on its settings. Compare the first value with the meter reading in the M-Center and shift the address by one if necessary.
Depending on the adapter version, one instance queries one or several device addresses. With many meters, MQTT is often more convenient.
Route 2: MQTT adapter
The MQTT adapter works as a broker or as a client. As a broker, you enter its address directly in the M-Center. ioBroker creates a data point for every topic received; the structure follows the M-Center’s topic:
<prefix>/emu/mcenter/<MAC>/meterreading/<serial number>/byobis/<OBIS code>
After the first messages, check in the object tree how the values arrive before you build scripts or visualisations on them.
